TANK MAINTENANCE
Aussie Rain Tanks recommends that filters are placed in downspouts to prevent leaf litter entrying the tank.  Likewise, filers and mesh screening at the tank entry way deter insects and small creatures like squirels, pets, lizards and frogs. All tanks need regular maintenance to work properly.

Tank maintenance is the key to water quality. It is important to:

  • Keep gutters and roof clear of leaves and other material, more frequent checks are needed if there are overhanging trees.
  • Clean inlet strainers whenever necessary.
  • Make sure the inlet strainers, mosquito proofing and lids are in good repair.
  • Lids should be tight fitting.

Aussie Rain Tanks has a maintence program that will clean your gutters and filter twice a year and provide a general tank overhaul cleaning every two years.
