Many of the San Francisco Bay Area cities and water authorities encourage rain water harvesting.  Below is a list of helpful places to go for more information in your area.
Bay Area cities step up to Rain Harvesting

It's great to see a number of local cities actively promoting rain harvesting.

To the right is a list of rain harvesting programs around the Bay Area.

Rebates are also offered for installation of rain tanks in the California American Water and the Monterey Peninsula Water Management Districts. Qualifying water users will receive $25 for every 100 gallons of rainwater storage, up to a maximum of 3,000 gallons per site.

The cities of San Francisco and Oakland offer a rain barrel program for residents. The barrels are a great way to start a rain harvesting system at home and the cities subsidize a great discount.

Call (408)796 7511 to find out how your city can assist with residential rain harvesting plans.
